To match the Theatrical Audio I deleted the LFE from the Extended scenes.Īuthor dark_jedi Time 1 7:30 PM Post linkĪH OK,that explains it,so it is right, again very nice cover.Īuthor dark_jedi Time 1 8:31 PM Post link I don't like the audio mix of the Extended Edition so I used the Theatrical audio wherever possible. The Extended Edition has 5.1 audio but the LFE is an upmix. There's no LFE channel in the audio of the Theatrical Version. Time needed for the edition: Way too long!Īuthor dark_jedi Time 1 4:12 PM Post linkĬan you PM me where the DVD9 can be obtained?Īuthor dark_jedi Time 1 5:29 PM Post linkġ thing I noticed about the cover, you have 5.0 Surround, should be 5.1,but other than that the cover looks real nice, just don't like the 5.0 LOL.Īuthor Zaaacharias Time 1 7:22 PM Post linkĪlthough the official DVD cover claims "5.1 surround sound" it only is 5.0. Your way to achieve your intention: A “never give up attitude” and a lot of support from Cédric.Īdditional Comment: Enjoy this “Ultimate Edition” of Waterworld! Universal wasn’t able to release a proper version on DVD so I thought I had to do it on my own. Intention for this fanedit: I was so pissed off when I found out that the Extended Edition which I believed to be the “Ultimate Edition” of Waterworld was a censored, softened edit for TV. The verdict? Young Kristie was right to worry the movie is NASTY. The other afternoon, I pulled up Amazon Instant, rented Waterworld, and watched the 20-year-old movie from start to finish. I presumed that the nasty eye socket scene was only the tip of the melted polar icecap, er, iceberg, and I wasn't ready to find out what other gruesome horrors the movie had to offer.įast-forward to 2015: I was finally ready. Not only was the movie still going strong, but it was smack dab in the middle of a scene that would lurk in the dark corners of my brain for the next twenty years of my life: The Deacon (Dennis Hopper) lifts up his eyepatch to show The Mariner (Kevin Costner) the empty pit were his eyeball used to live. The movie has to be over by now, I thought.

When my parents popped the tape in the VCR, I retreated to my room and listened to The Lion King soundtrack while I threw pogs at Koosh Lings and read old issues of Disney Adventures. Waterworld is not animated, nor does it star Jim Carrey (a human cartoon!), so I had little to no interest in checking it out. One evening, my parents picked up a copy of Waterworld at the local video rental store. The post-apocalyptic flick and I have a bit of a history: The year was 1996. I finally watched Waterworld from start to finish.
